except 主要用来谈论相同种类的东西，而 except for 则主要用来谈论不相同种类的东西。请问这种比较是不是相同种类，expect for后面的词跟前面的哪部分比，主语，宾语还是其他？

2. 在句首只可以用 Except for ，不可以用 except ；在介词短语之前 只可以用except ，不可以用except for 。
3. 假如句子的后半部对前半部所说的的基本状况在细节上加以修正，就要用except for 。比如：His diary is good expect for a few spelling mistakes.
